An International company,specialising in the field of contract operations and the maintenance of metal and mineral processing facilities with a base in Grand Bay is looking for a suitable candidate to fill a full time Senior Accountant position.


Requirements:
• Accounting qualification ACCA or studying towards
• 5 years experience
• Experience with payroll
• Strong skills with Microsoft office suite of products Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
• Knowledge of Sage X3 is a benefit
• Honesty and integrity
• Methodical, reliable and detail conscious
• Must live in Mauritius and must be eligible to work in Mauritius
• Strong communication skills - fluent in English

Role spec
• Perform high level payroll administration and processing by using and understanding an integrated and automated payroll accounting system
• Maintains payroll to include maintenance of records, leave balances, timesheet input, generation and distribution of pay slips, payroll transmission and employee deductions
• Ensures compliance with applicable local regulatory reporting requirements and guidelines ensures reports are accurate.
• Assists internal & external auditors on annual basis by preparing schedules, providing explanation of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any other necessary data.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Preparation of the financial statements
• Bank reconciliations to be done on a weekly basis
• Run the monthly close of the accounts and meet the deadline
• Process and computation of the corporate tax
• Monthly preparation of the VAT return
• Monthly reconciliation of turnover to vat returns
• Creation of debtors and supplier accounts
• Download of bank statements, load bank statements on the system
• Preparation of audit schedules monthly where required and for yearly submission to auditors
• Liaise with auditors
• Liaise with South African office on a regular basis
• Any other adhoc duties and general office administration
