An International Hotel based in the north of Mauritius is looking for an Assistant Human Resources Manager.

Job Overview

Manage Human Resources programs for hotel team members. Promote a positive team culture while ensuring our guests’ experience is unique and brings the brand to life. Promote a professional and positive image to all of our internal guests and contribute to the hotels targets by providing and coordinating a rapid response to relevant employee requests, needs and general staff welfare.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

FINANCIAL RETURNS
• Assist in the creation of and work within the established Human Resources department budget and control expenses.
• Monitor staffing to manage costs.
• To be responsible that all payroll documents are ready five working days prior of pay period for approval by DOHR
• To monitor team members attendance sheet on a daily basis and to submit a daily report to DOHR for morning and evening shift
• To monitor Team members lateness on a daily basis and to submit daily and weekly report to DOHR

Roster & Attendance Management
• To ensure that HODs send their monthly departmental rosters at least one week before the new payroll calendar
• To ensure that rosters are being affixed in a visible place in all departments one week before the start of the new payroll calendar
• To ensure that rosters are being made as per company policy and as per our local law requirements
• To ensure that all HODs submit their monthly departmental rosters by the 25th of each month

Leave Management
• To maintain and up to date leave record for all team members and to submit a monthly leave report to DOHR by the 05th of each month
• To ensure that all Leave request form are being submitted 48hrs prior to the leave being taken
• To ensure sick leave forms is be submitted on the same day that team members resumes work
• To ensure injury form is being submitted on the day the injury had occurred
• To ensure that all leaves are being taken as per company policy and as per requirements of local laws.
• To ensure that team members consume their leaves during the year so that they have a well balance personal and professional life.
• To ensure that recuperation form submitted to Human Resources department is as per company policy and submitted 48hrs prior the leave is taken
Payroll Management
• To be responsible that all payroll documents are ready five working days prior of pay period
• To submit monthly overtime report at the end of each month to the DOHR
• To be responsible that all payroll documents are ready five working days prior of pay period for approval by DOHR
PEOPLE
• Create programs to foster a positive work environment for all employees.
• Support and administer an annual team member satisfaction survey.
• Educate and train managers on performance management process in accordance with hotel or company policies, and related programs to foster productivity and enhance performance
• Conduct new team member orientation providing information on hotel or company standards, policies,
procedures, rules and team member benefit programs.
• Oversee maintenance of accurate and up-to-date personnel files and records for all employees.
• Ensure hotel or company hiring standards and applicable laws and regulations are followed in a timely
• manner for recruiting and selection processes.
• To ensure that Manning guide is being updated on a daily basis
• To promote and to monitor the employee recognition program and to keep updated records per department and to submit a monthly report to DOHR on the 05th of each month.


ACCOUNTABILITY
Reports to the Director of Human Resources on all Human Resources matters. Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the DOHR from time to time. May also serve as manager-on-duty.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma / secondary education / equivalent plus 5 years of related experience in Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Some college courses in Human Resources, Employment Law or related field preferred. Must speak fluent English, French and Creole.
